Description
Serra Gelada Natural Park is located between the bays of Benidorm and Alfàs-Altea in the province of Alicante. It is one of the most unique mountainous elevations on the Valencian coast. Its proximity to the Mediterranean Sea has created a set of ecosystems of incalculable ecological and environmental value which together with its historical and cultural heritage, make this park a perfect place to visit.
Visitors who venture to explore this park will have the opportunity to witness the beauty of great cliffs and hard-to-reach fossil dunes. The flora that can be observed along this fabulous landscape includes endemic species such as Silene hifacensis, Teucrium hifacense and Asperula paui. We must not fail to mention the marine flora and fauna in this natural marine reserve such as posidonia oceanica, vital vegetation for the optimal care of our seas and oceans.
For those interested in bird watching, the following species of seabirds inhabit the cliffs and are worth mentioning: European storm petrel (600 pairs), Audouin’s gull and others birds that require high cliffs like the peregrine falcon.

Summer: Scopoli's shearwater, European storm petrel, little egret, Audouin’s gull and pallid swift.
Winter: Balearic shearwater, great cormorant, European shag, and peregrine falcon.
