Description
Turia Natural Park is a valuable Mediterranean lithophytic forest located on the plains of the Turia River. It has a total area of 4,692 ha, which extends for 35 km through the regions of L'Horta, El Camp de Túria and Los Serranos. It is the only park in the Region of Valencia characterised by its linear taxonomy, occupying part of the municipalities of Quart de Poblet, Manises, Paterna, L'Eliana, Riba-roja de Túria, Vilamarxant, Benaguasil, Llíria and Pedralba.
Thanks to the direct influence of more than 1.5 million people, it has a rich biodiversity in terms of fauna and flora, such as the wooded areas of Aleppo pine in La Vallesa or Les Rodanes and other more anthropised areas in the Valencian orchard. This reserve constitutes one of the forest lungs that survives in such an industrialised and populated area, as is the city of Valencia.
It is an ideal place for visitors interested in birdwatching. More than 100 different catalogued species can be spotted in this valuable forest near the city of Valencia.
