Puebla de San Miguel Natural Park

La Puebla de San Miguel

Description

Puebla de San Miguel Natural Park is located in the westernmost area of the Region of Valencia, in the region of Rincón de Ademuz, very close to the Sierra de Javalambre mountain range.  It has a total area of 6,390 ha and occupies the entire town that gives the park its name.

If we explore deep into the park, we can reach the Alto de las Barracas whose elevation of 1,839 meters makes it the highest point in the Region of Valencia.

Thanks to its altitude, its distance from the coast and extreme weather conditions, we find ourselves facing a unique landscape in the Region of Valencia. These orographic and climatic characteristics have led to the development of exceptionally rare and beautiful plant communities.

It is a perfect environment for hiking, with natural environmental and scenic attractions of incalculable value: populations of Spanish juniper, savin juniper, scots pine, yews... In addition, its rich and varied cultural and ethnographic heritage is scattered throughout the entire territory.

Birdwatching lovers can observe different types of birds of prey, the Dupont's lark and golden eagle, among other species.
