L'Alqueria del Pilar is an old farming estate dating back to Arab times. It's on the outskirts of Banyeres de Mariola (Alicante) and although it's inside the town you can still enjoy peace and countryside pleasures as this old farmhouse is surrounded by fields of oats. From the windows there are beautiful views over the Sierra de Serrella mountains and Molí L’Ombria, through which the calm waters of the Vinalopó river flow.
The house has been restored with loving care, preserving the original materials and appearance. Features include thick stone walls and recovered timber beams, creating an inviting atmosphere for enjoying a few days of rest and relaxation.
The farmhouse is one of several buildings whose exact age is unknown, but they are thought to date back to the Arab era. The group of buildings most probably grew and multiplied organically over a period of time, depending on the needs that arose in terms of managing and tending the farm and the crops.
